About Odisha Union of Journalists
Odisha Union of Journalists is the oldest and largest body of scribes of the state, it was formed in 2nd Dec 1972. This is affiliated to National Union of Journalist (I), New Delhi, which is a member of international federation of journalists, Brussels(Brazil). OUJ has a long histroy of struggle , this is the only trade unoin which is constantly fightly for the genune cause of journalists. Its present membership is around 1700. It has also presence in 31 organisational districts.
Many important and senior journalists of the state are associated with this prestigious organisation. It is also functioning as a vibrant state unit of National Union of Jjournalists. In different time it has also taken the leadership of NUJ. Senior journalist Barebdra Krushnna Dhala was president of NUJ, and now senior journalist Prasanna Mohanty is heading the NUJ as its Secretary General.
